HPA Motorsports Product Warranty
All HPA-branded products that are both manufactured and sold by HPA Motorsports are covered under a limited one-year warranty against manufacturer defects in major, non-consumable components. This warranty is valid for one year from the date of purchase, regardless of the installation date.
This warranty does not cover damage resulting from:

Improper installation
-
Normal wear and tear
-
Misuse or abuse
-
Racing or motorsport use
-
Collisions or accidents
-
Contamination from foreign particles or debris
Warranty Terms:

Warranty coverage applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.

HPA’s liability is strictly limited to the repair of the defective component, at HPA’s sole discretion.

No refunds will be issued for warranty claims.

Labour, shipping, and freight costs associated with warranty service are not covered.

Incidental, consequential, indirect, special, or punitive damages are expressly excluded from coverage.
Warranty Requirements:
To maintain warranty eligibility, the vehicle’s maintenance must follow the factory-recommended service schedule and any applicable manufacturer-issued Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). Proof of adherence may be required.
In the event of a warranty claim, you must provide adequate supporting documentation, which may include:

Photo and/or video evidence

DTM/FT/FTX VR6 Turbo Systems Warranty
In addition to HPA Motorsports' standard limited warranty, the following specific terms apply to all HPA FT/FTX series Turbo Systems for VR6 engines.

Workmanship Claims & Warranty Repairs
All warranty repairs related to defects in workmanship must be performed at the HPA Motorsports facility in Langley, BC, Canada. If the issue is determined to be the direct result of HPA workmanship, the cost of labour for in-house repairs will be covered under warranty.
In select cases, and only with prior written authorization from HPA, repairs may be carried out at an HPA-authorized facility at a pre-approved labour rate.
Note: Customers must contact HPA technical support prior to beginning any repair procedure. Failure to follow guidance from our team may void warranty coverage.
Maintenance Requirements for Warranty Validity
To maintain eligibility for warranty coverage, the following maintenance procedures must be followed in addition to the vehicle’s factory-recommended service schedule. All maintenance must be properly documented:
Break-in period: engine speed is not to exceed 5500 RPM, and absolutely NO standing starts are to be performed | 1000 km / 620 miles |
Mass Air Flow meter – Clean | 5000 km / 3100 miles |
Mass Air Flow meter – Replace | 20,000 km / 12,500 miles |
Engine Oil (Motul Xcess / 8100 5w40) & Filter – Replace | 5000 km / 3100 miles |
Haldex Fluid & Filter – Replace | 10,000 km / 6000 miles |
Failure to comply with these intervals and documentation requirements may result in the denial of warranty claims.

At first I was a little skeptical as I was positive the FR450 would not reach 450 WHP. However after getting the car pro tuned by 5150 and running on full Ethanol I was able to reach 420 WHP on a dynojet and any more would really get me into some trouble. The car pulls very hard all the way to 7k and I’m very happy with the purchase, glad I didn’t go bigger!

Great turbo, works as advertised, holds boost right until redline. Perfect turbo setup for a daily driver; I have not lost much low end from the IS20, and the turbo pulls hard from 3500 right until redline. This is not a turbo that will shatter 60-130 records; to me it is the perfect balance of what is needed for a fast, reliable daily driver.

Unrivaled Reliability
The IHI IS series turbos have been known to restrict oil flow under sporty driving conditions which can cause premature failure of the bearings resulting in broken turbine shafts. This can lead to catastrophic engine failures due to oil and debris being pushed out into the exhaust system and igniting. The HPA FR450 IS38 Hybrid is an insurance against these types of failures.

PRECISION ENGINEERED
HPA has spent 4 years of research and development to completely rethink the bearing housing design. Each turbo requires precision CNC machining of the intake and exhaust housings and include an HPA proprietary mixed-flow turbine wheel, and CNC machined billet compressor wheel. All components are completely upgraded to ensure lubrication for both reliability and peace-of-mind.

OEM QUALITY
Each CHRA is built to meet or exceed the OEM quality specifications, with the individual components of the rotating group balanced on a Schenk Balancer. Once fully assembled, each complete CHRA assembly is balanced with a VSR Balancer ensuring a perfect assembly.

DIRECT BOLT-ON REPLACEMENT
The HPA IS38 Hybrid turbo upgrade has everything you will need for a simple and quick installation including turbo inlet pipe, and silicone hose to adapt to the factory airbox. An OEM diverter valve and OEM pre-calibrated wastegate actuator is also available should you require.
