KW Street Comfort Coilovers

With "KW street comfort“ KW has produced a newly developed coilover suspension line which allows individual lowering with the best driving comfort. The lowering, depending on the application, is from 5-45 mm. Therefore it offers a perfect look, with the best possible driving behaviour. Long distance, motorways as well as fast driven country roads will be a pleasure for every driver.

KW street comfort in stainless steel technology “inox-line” are developed especially for ambitious customers which demand comfort, safe driving quality and a discreet but individual lowering. The vehicle can be height adjusted from 5-45 mm on front and rear axle. All coilover kits are equipped with a shock absorber which can be adjusted in rebound damping for more comfort.

  • MAXIMUM DRIVING COMFORT!
  • Coilover struts in stainless steel technology “inox-line”
  • TUEV tested lowering on front and rear axle from 5-45 mm
  • Better handling due to less curl
  • Trapezoid thread for easy height adjustment
  • High-quality elements for a long durability
  • adjustable rebound damping

KW Clubsport

With the growing popularity of club Sport racing, KW has brought its racing heritage to the market with this line of competitive suspension kits...

With KW clubsport, KW automotive has developed a further product line of the KW coilover suspension models. Taken from motor sport for the racetrack, adapted to the street and designed for optimum performance, above all, the KW clubsport stands out because of its excellent handling.

The dampers are separately adjustable in pressure and tension and the use of high-performance racing springs makes it clear that KW clubsport above all addresses motor sport enthusiasts who race their street vehicles on the racetrack at the weekend. In Germany the most popular destination is the Nürburgring North Loop (“Nordschleife”) and so it is little wonder that the setup of these applications was especially developed on the North Loop.

Drivers of powerful sports cars, modified sedans and classic compact sports cars use the rounds on the ring to optimize their own driving skills, experience the racing sport feeling and discover the limits of their vehicles.

KW clubsport suspensions are also used at track sport events, racetrack club events, safety training courses, driver seminars, regularity tests and tourist runs, including on the Nürburgring North Loop.

KW Competition

KW Competition coilovers are the choice of champions for serious dedicated racers...

2-Way Adjustable

The double-adjustable KW competition racing suspension systems are primarily designed for use in most motorsport, such as slalom events, hill climbs, road rallies, longdistance races and driver training on the legendary nordschleife, the northern loop of the Nürburgring. They are notable for their outstanding price/performance ratio and their ease of use. In addition to the complete solutions listed below, we also produce customer-specific racing suspension systems. For production car motor sport and for the driver with sporting ambitions we also offer these motorracing solutions with a TÜV certificate, or supply the appropriate certification for individual approval.

In the motor racing range listed we use our twin-tube racing shock absorbers, adjustable in both compression and rebound mode. The damping forces can be set independently of one another, at the piston rod end or on the base of the casing respectively. The shock absorber setup differs significantly from that of our road suspension systems, and the setting range has been adapted specifi cally to meet the requirements for use in motor racing, for the particular vehicle. It is not just the absolute damping forces that are signifi cant for the design but also the course of the characteristic damping curves, particularly in relation the spring ratings used.

The structural design of the struts and shock absorbers takes into account the installation conditions in production cars. That means that the casings are appropriately shortened in order to use the max. travel, limited by the suspension design. Restrictions are, however, made in this context for Group N and rally cars in particular, which require a design to within plus or minus 30 mm of standard production height. The machined section of the piston rods corresponds with that of standard shock absorbers, with the result that the suspension systems can be used with standard top mounts. When our special aluminum racing support bearings are used, we also supply all necessary adapters. The complete racing suspension systems include all the parts required for adapting springs and shock absorbers. High-tensile racing springs are supplied.

3-Way Adjustable

The triple adjustable KW competition racing shock absorbers and racing suspensions are designed for professional motor sport, requiring a well-founded knowledge of racing car suspension. We offer solutions for every area of motorsport (rallying, circuit racing, slalom, hill climb) and for every vehicle. The shock absorbers can be produced in a large number of different casings, aluminum, as well as various guide technologies (plain bearing or linear ball bearing solutions). In addition to the complete ready developed and successful solutions employed worldwide, we can produce almost every type of shock absorber and suspension system to the customer‘s own specifications.

In the motor racing range listed below, we use a mono-tube gas shock absorber with a compensator reservoir, adjustable in rebound and compression mode (compression separately for low and high speed). The damping forces can be set independently of each other. Whereas the rebound adjustment is carried out at the top end of the piston rod, the compression damping is set by means of two adjusting screws on the separately mounted compensator reservoir. The unique needle valve technology is essentially different from conventional valve technology, offering a large number of parameters in order to achieve a truly customized and competitive setup. The wide and effective ranges of adjustment make it possible to react to changing track conditions and to tune the vehicle almost exclusively by adjustable shock absorber technology. The special shock absorber/valve technology makes it possible to use extremely low-viscosity oils, which in the end makes the shock absorber system extremely stable and insensitive to temperature changes.

The design and the overall lengths are determined by the installation conditions or the specifications of the race series in question (such as DTC, ETCC). All shock absorbers are designed to accept top mounts with spherical bearings. Top mounts must be supplied for the installation of McPherson struts, or ordered from the table below. Standard top mounts or specially homologated designs can be used, if the internal diameter of the bearing is at least 14 mm. McPherson struts are produced exclusively upside down, and it is possible to use different systems for bearings and guides, depending on the purpose of the application. We differentiate essentially between standard plain bearings and the unique linear ball bearing solution for the reduction of guide friction. The compensator reservoir is connected to the shock absorber with aspecial high pressure hose. All connectors are equiped with special rotary compensators. In the case of applications without wheel guidance (e.g. non McPherson, rear axle or double wishbone) the reservoir can also be fi tted directly on the shock absorber. The following racing suspension systems are supplied withhigh-tensile racing springs and all the spring adapter parts.
